SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • The title, theme and content of manuscripts should provide a forum for scholarly inquiries relating to communication education and media.

  • Manuscripts should not be less than 5000 words and not more than 7000 words (excluding abstract, references, author/s biodata and appendix).

  • Each manuscript must have an abstract (between 200-250 words) and 5 keywords. 

  • Manuscripts in the Malay language must have an abstract and title in English with similar abstract content. Manuscripts that do not adhere to this will not be considered for review.

  • All manuscripts must be typed in Microsoft Word and single-spaced, Calibri, font 12. Margins are to be set at Normal (2.54cm all around) and paper size at A4 (21 x 29.7cm).

  • Authors are required to send the manuscript in word.docx.

  • Please ensure that the authors’ names do not appear anywhere in the manuscript or in the filename (this is to facilitate the blind review process). Authors’ names, designations and institutional addresses should be in a separate file.

  • Authors are to check manuscripts for the accuracy of language before submitting them to the journal. The Editorial Board will not edit submitted manuscripts for style or language (Please refer to the manuscript template) ***

  • Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Communication Education must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere, either in electronic or printed form. The corresponding author should declare this when submitting the paper to the Editor in Chief.

  • The Journal of Communication Education retains the right to electronically distribute accepted manuscripts, but the authors will retain copyright. If authors wish to republish the article, they must write to the Editor in Editor and acknowledge the Journal of Communication Education as the original publisher.

  • Authors are expected to carefully proofread their work before submission.

  • The Editorial Board reserves the right to make editorial changes to any manuscript accepted for publication to enhance clarity and style. Endnotes and footnotes are not encouraged.

  • Manuscripts that do not adhere to any of the SUBMISSION GUIDELINES will not be considered for review.

  • Please attach a brief biodata of all authors (about 50 words) in a separate file.

  • It is advisable that the name of an author only appears once in an issue.

  • The author or co-author may publish articles on alternate issues only.

  • Publishing in back-to-back issues is not allowed.

COPYRIGHT TRANSFER

The copyright to this article is transferred to the Journal of Communication Education (JCE), published by the Malaysian Association of Communication Educators (MACE) when the article is accepted for publication. The author (s) transfer(s) any and all rights in and to the paper including, without limitation, all copyrights to the Journal of Communication Education, MACE. The author(s) represents and warrants that the paper is original and that he/she is the author of the paper, except for material that is clearly identified as to its original source, with permission notices from the copyright owners where required. The author(s) represent(s) that he/she has the power and authority to make and execute this assignment.

PUBLICATION ETHICS
